Buddleia

Buddleia

Lots of these growing by the sides of the roads in my town, and also in my garden.

This is pretty insanely close-up, by the way. Each of these little flower heads is just a few millimetres across.

As a species, buddleia really need to work on increasing their flower size. They look much better in your photo than they do in my general day-to-day encounters with them.

I suppose it could be that I’m not their target market. If you’re a butterfly the flower size probably makes a lot more sense…

Why thank you. That’s exactly the response that I was looking for 🙂

One way to simulate increased flower sizes is to move your head closer to them.

I tried your simulation technique, but as the nearest buddleia that I know about it about a thousand miles away it didn’t work very well. I have satisfied myself with another look at your photo.
