As a species, buddleia really need to work on increasing their flower size. They look much better in your photo than they do in my general day-to-day encounters with them.
I suppose it could be that I’m not their target market. If you’re a butterfly the flower size probably makes a lot more sense…

One way to simulate increased flower sizes is to move your head closer to them.
I tried your simulation technique, but as the nearest buddleia that I know about it about a thousand miles away it didn’t work very well. I have satisfied myself with another look at your photo.
Oh, it doesn’t just work for Buddleia. It works for any plant with small flowers.
And, indeed, for any plant with large flowers.
