> Hi, I am looking for a bigger TV say from 28″ upward. My small TV is too small for living room!
I was tempted to reply to this with “Hi, I’ve got a 42″ plasma screen that I don’t use very often, about once a day at most. I’d be willing to give you that for free. You can have my Blu-ray player as well, if you think you could find a use for it.”

We’ve had similar postings in our group. Last year, someone asked for a car and actually got one. Tellies, including really quite large (and, therefore, expensive) change hands quite regularly, including one recently of 42 inches. It always amazes me – surely something like that is worth real cash and could be sold in the local small ads?
There must surely be more to this than meets the eye. Either that or there must be a certain kind of person who owns more cars, TVs and money than they know what to do with, and they think to themself “aha, I know what I’ll do, I’ll go onto Freecycle to see if there is anybody out there who wants to take all this stuff off of my hands for nothing.”
I’m not ruling it out, but it seems a bit far-fetched.
See, it can be a regular piece! Seen on Freecycle – people could contribute from their own groups, too.
