I went out into the garden today and saw a fab-looking spider, so I dashed off to get my camera.
And then a rather large dragonfly, one of the largest that I’ve ever seen, came fluttering past. “Please settle on a leaf somewhere,” I implored. The dragonfly obliged, and stayed there long enough for me to get half a dozen shots.

Wow. Assuming you don’t have a massive zoom, thats top work.
No massive zoom or tripod. They were taken from a distance of about 10cm, with only good lighting conditions and a steady hand to keep them crisp.
I don’t get 10cm to a spider without shrieking in fear and turning into a little girl.
Well, I think that it’s her own fault. She shouldn’t have been standing that close behind you.
