I’ve made a few changes to my desk since a year ago.
First, I decided that having the monitor shelf wasn’t working for me. I barely touched the 8-track while it was under there, so I’ve decided to allow it to breathe again. A major consequence of not having the monitor shelf is that Bernard would be able to interfere with my computer speakers, so I’ve mounted them on the uprights using nuts, bolts and picture wire. The monitor shelf has gone back up to the top, and is currently being used as a bit of a miscellaneous dumping ground. The long term plan is to make it look a bit nicer up there, though the photo of me and my sister from 23 years ago might be there to stay.
I’ve also got rid of those purple and white plastic boxes and replaced them with black cardboard drawer units. Much tidier.
